Some days I want to weep…

Prayer Poem 119

Some days I want to weep
for the longings of our souls
often murdered by the fallen
earth where the slaves of evil
run riot, breaking luminous glass
windows of love and faith, along
those sacred paths of our Being
extinguishing the burning lamps
of hope and trust, casting shadows
where drugs are sold for all grief.

Yet there is a Light at the dead end
alley of this brief journey opening
through Christ to Life Everlasting.

This Prayer Poem is dedicated to all those who have been killed, and are being killed as I type, and will continue to be killed because they love Jesus Christ, and refuse to surrender their faith even under threat of a violent death.

May those of us sitting comfortably at home, or at work, on our computers with no fear of bombs going off just outside our windows, remember our brothers and sisters all over the world who are not as fortunate, and yet who, in a Mysterious Sense, are even more blessed than we are by their martyrdom, for their souls step straight into our Lord’s embrace.
